Directions Map Roulette

The teacher chooses a map, the roulette chooses a student, and the second roulette chooses a destination. The student gives clear spoken directions from the starting boy to the selected place.

Students will give step-by-step directions using go straight, turn left, turn right, cross the street, go past, on your left, on your right, next to, and across from.

Teacher Setup

How to run the activity

First, load the student names. Then choose Map 1 or Map 2. Spin the student roulette and then spin the destination roulette. The selected student looks at the active map and explains how to get from the boy to the destination.

Start at the boy near the bus stop. Some places are close, but several destinations require walking across the map with turns and crossings.
