1. Choose a safe family

Use the Riveras, another fictional family, or a public/famous family. Do not expose private personal stories from your real family.

The Morales family used to visit their grandmother every Saturday.

2. Name the old routine

Start with one repeated habit. Use used to for something that happened before but is different now.

They used to cook soup together and listen to old music.

3. Add two memory details

Give small concrete details: place, people, food, objects, music, time, or a repeated question.

The children used to write the menu on a small yellow card.

4. Explain the present contrast

Show what changed. Use now, today, or these days.

Now the children have homework, and the adults answer work messages.

5. Finish with an agreement

The blog should not only feel nostalgic. It must end with a realistic decision for today.

Today, they have to protect thirty minutes for dinner without phones.

6. Add a reflection

Explain what the memory teaches. This final sentence gives the blog a purpose.

The memory teaches them that a tradition can change and still matter.

Blog Requirements

Length

120 to 160 words is ideal. The submission system accepts 90 to 220 words.

Language

Use used to or didn't use to, present contrast language, and one obligation or agreement sentence.

Tone

Respectful, fictional, and reflective. Avoid blaming real relatives.

The teacher will be able to read submitted responses and may choose examples to discuss in class.
